Lídia Brás
Chef at Stramuntana (Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal)

Her work preserves the authenticity, seasonality and characteristics of Portuguese cuisine, sometimes with a personal touch of innovation.
Born in Trás-os-Montes, Lídia Brás began her artistic training, but it was in the kitchen that she found her place and her passion.
A cook by vocation, she maintains an intimate relationship with Trás-os-Montes and the customs and traditions of her roots. She researches the recipes of her ancestors, especially those linked to the traditions of fiestas, picnics and rituals specific to the region.
As well as taking part in television programmes, food fairs, private events and cookery shows, it is mainly in Stramuntana (Tramontana in the Mirandese language) that she promotes the products, recipes and producers of northeastern Portugal.
