Pérez embodies a deep appreciation for Mediterranean tradition and the products of its rich marine environment. He was born in Huelva, although at six months old his family moved to Llançà, where he has lived ever since. Fascinated by cooking, at the age of 12 he began working in his family’s tapas bar, where the passion that would later define his career truly began to take shape. From then on, Paco combined his studies with culinary training and work during the summer holidays in different restaurants.He later continued his training in France with Michel Guérard and, upon returning to Catalonia, connected with the creativity of Ferran Adrià at elBulli.
Together with his wife, Montse Serra, he undertook the evolution of her family’s inn — Miramar — transforming it from a traditional restaurant into the contemporary, avant-garde gastronomic destination it is today, proudly holding two Michelin stars.
Paco Pérez also holds two additional Michelin stars at Enoteca Miramar (Hotel Arts, Barcelona) and at Arco by Paco Pérez.
